SQUARE 1 ART - Orders due Wednesday, November 12!

Square 1 Art Orders are due to Mrs. Brouwer on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Order forms and free magnets with your child's art printed on them were sent home the week of October 27. If you would like to place an order for additional items with your child's artwork printed on it, orders need to be turned in to Mrs. Brouwer by November 12, 2008.

Square 1 Art orders will be delivered to Georgetown on December 5th - just in time for Christmas gifts for friends and family!

Please contact Mrs. Brouwer in the art room if you have questions or to see sample items that can be ordered.

ART AROUND TOWN Is coming to Hudsonville!!

Hudsonville's art program is offering an exciting new way to promote art in our community. On October 14th, area business owners will have the opportunity to participate in a new art leasing program called "ART AROUND TOWN!" This unique program will allow businesses to lease and display professionally framed pieces of artwork created by our students in the Hudsonville Public Schools.

Approximately 30 framed works of art will be on display in the lower level of the Hudsonville City Hall at 3275 Central Blvd. from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14th. Silent auction bids may be placed by businesses during the day on the 14th, and an artist reception from 7-8 p.m. that evening will end with announcement of the winning bids for each business.

Questions or interest in bidding on the works of art may be directed to Margaret Clifford at: mcliffor@hudsonville.k12.mi.us.

Three works of art from our Georgetown students will be included in ART AROUND TOWN! We currently have one piece framed, with more to follow - check it out!

What's New From the Art Room

5G-Julia, Dakota, Erin, Katelyn: Today we are naming our junk sculpture and writing a story about it. Here is our name that we all voted on: Funky Spunky Elmer!!

4J-Ash, Kaitlin, Nicole, Hailey: today we had a short art class because we went to an assembly. Then we came to art and Mrs. B. let us watch a funny cartoon drawing video, and we drew along with it. It was fun!

What's New From the Art Room

Wednesday in the art room..

4B: Tayler, Caleb, Hope, Lucas: some of us are finishing up our Haikus. We got our artwork back from the art show too! WE have earned all of our stars so we are going to enjoy a free art day!!!

5PB: Hunter, Judd, Justin: Today we voted on a name for our junk sculpture and it is: Petunia Peboroni. We also started writing a story about Petunia...one table started the story and then passed it on to another table to write some more. It is a funny story so far. At 9:30 we are going outside for ACES - all children exercise simultaneously!!! We hope it doesn't rain....
