School Messenger
As a district, we are launching a new phone contact system that will be used to announce school cancellations, delays, and last minute schedule changes. In addition, this service will also be use to make parents aware of any emergency situations that may occur.
Georgetown was selected to run the first automated phone call test. The system successful called over 400 numbers in under one hour. We had one complication in the test run which involved dropped calls when answering machines picked up. The Tech Office is working to rectify this.
If there are any phone number changes, please make the office aware of this as soon as possible.
On mornings in which school is cancelled, the calls will begin at 6 am and be completed shortly after. I will keep you aware of any changes in this system as they develop.
