What's New From the Art Room

submitted by Mrs. Brouwer & 4/5 Artists | April 30, 2008 15:32

Whew, we are recovering from last week's Big Art Show and settling in for our last few weeks of awesome art in the art room. Here are reports from 4th & 5th grade for the last couple of days....

4J-Madison Bri, Maggie, Joe...today we wrote haikus to go on our Japanese Cherry Blossom pictures!

4B-Zach, Madison, Cody....here are some things we know about the art element of SHAPE: shape is everywhere, shape can have curved or straight lines - the lines connect to make the shape!

5G-Isaiah, Ben, Nick D....today we are learning about Norman Rockwell. We looked at his art and then we got into groups. We could write a little story about his art, or act it out too. He is one of the world's best known artists! And he drew covers for magazines.

5PB-Brianna, Alex, Courtney, Lexi...today we are writing about SHAPE. Shapes can tell us different things about a picture. Artists always use shapes! They can be long, shoert, tall, or skinny too!
