What's New From the Art Room

submitted by Mrs. Brouwer & 4/5 Artists | May 02, 2008 11:58

More reports from the art room this week....

4G-Cooper, Todd, Hayden, Luke: here are some things we remember about FORM: it is a 3-D shape. It is 3-dimensional and takes up space! Almost everything around you is three-dimensional - our bodies, the food we eat, the houses we live in are 3-D.

5KB-Today we are learning about Norman Rockwell. Here are some things we learned: he was born in 1895. He is one of the best known artists who ever lived. He told funny stories through his pictures. And he got married twice!

5PB-Julia V., Mykiala, Taylor, Gentry: Today we looked at 3-D artist Alexander Calder. He was born in the USA, he did sculptures like the one in downtown G.R. on the plaza, his favorite color is red, and today we made a giant Junk Sculpture Person like Calder would do!
